Brian Planz
Meteorologist

Brian began his career with Wilkens Weather in March 1998. He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in May 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology. His internship endeavors during school included the National Weather Service and the NBC Pittsburgh affiliate. Currently, Brian prepares daily forecasts for numerous clients. He is also an active member of the American Meteorological Association.

Brian’s fascination with weather began at an early age. "I have always been amazed with thunderstorms and the different phenomena that accompany them," explains Brian. "At times forecasting can be challenging, especially for locations with limited information. What makes up for the difficulty is knowing my forecasts help people, whether it be a temperature forecast alerting energy clients a particular region may require extra fuel during a cold snap, or alerting oil rig workers in the Gulf of Mexico of an approaching thunderstorm or hurricane."
