Chris Yetsko
Meteorologist
Chris attended Penn State earning a
Bachelor of Science in meteorology, then joined Wilkens Weather in October 1996. Growing
up close to the New Jersey shoreline, Chris learned first hand about marine weather
patterns while spending many days at the beach or on the water fishing. "Originally
it was just a hobby in middle and high school. I kept weather records at home and was
always fascinated by storms and significant weather events. While in high school, I
decided I wanted to pursue meteorology as a career," says Chris.
At Wilkens Weather, Chris is responsible for preparing worldwide
marine forecasts, meteorological studies and hindcasts, temperature forecasts for natural
gas clients, and translating forecasts into Spanish for several Mexican newspapers.
Chris favorite part of the job is preparing a hindcast, which allows him the
opportunity to play detective while researching weather situations for a particular time
period. He is a member of the American
Meteorological Society and is actively involved with a local food pantry.
